![]() ![]() Developers knew that it sucked and wasn't fun, which is why they changed it once the incentive to keep a stingy loot system was no longer there. ![]() The whole system was designed, from the ground up, to facilitate RM sales by being incredibly stingy with loot. There's a reason why they had to rework the entire loot system once RMAH got removed. Since they directly profit from item sales, they make it as hard and frustrating as possible to get gear the normal way, all so that people are more likely to cave and spend real money. Both of those systems give developers the incentive to push people towards spending real money. There's little difference between an RMAH and a P2W cash shop selling gear when it comes to design incentives it gives.
